A Note From Our Founder: Supporting Our AAPI Community

by Coral Chung / Mar 18, 2021

Dear SENREVE community,

I write to you on behalf of our entire team expressing sadness and frustrations around the recent escalations of violence against Asians in America, especially Asian women. As a brand, we had hoped that March would be celebrated as Women’s Month, focused on achievements and milestones that women have made throughout history. Instead, too many tragedies have happened - horrific events that make it impossible for us to stay silent.

We are a brand founded on empowerment, and we feel that it is critical to use our voice and platform to accelerate positive change. We want to shine a light on the challenges of the day that affect each of us personally.

If you are not yet aware of what’s happened with the staggering 1,900% increase in violence against Asians since the Covid-19 pandemic last year (data according to the NYPD), our team compiled a list of informational resources below to our community stay informed:

Stop AAPI Hate
New York Times
New Yorker
Time
National Network to End Domestic Violence
AsAm News
The Lily
Anti-Asian Violence Resources
Washington Post

We invite you to share your personal stories and experiences with us in the comments below, and we will use the SENREVE platform to amplify them. As leaders in your communities, we encourage you to take a stand, make your voice heard to your friends and family, and write to you local government officials and Congresswomen and Congressmen to express your support to protect their Asian American constituents against hate crimes and racism. We also hope that you will join us in taking action and contributing to charitable organizations that are fighting everyday to prevent these tragic injustices from happening in the future.

AAPI Community Fund
Asian American Advocacy Fund

Thank you also for your continued and unyielding support of our brand, founded and led by Asian American women. We love having you as part of our diverse SENREVE community.

Sincerely,
Coral Chung
